Thank you for everything
Grandparents

Thank you for everything: how to tell your parents they are going to be grandparents

For children aged 2 to 8

From the cover to the second-to-last page this is a thank-you to your own parents. It is about the nights they stayed up, the food that was always ready, the times they came to collect somebody without asking why. Small memories rather than big words.

The title and the cover give nothing away. No baby, no bump, no baby clothes. Whoever unwraps it genuinely believes it stops at the thank-you, which is exactly the point.

The last page turns it around: you are going to be grandparents, and we are going to be parents. That is the first time it is mentioned at all. You write that line yourself, word for word.

Frequently asked questions

Can you tell from the cover that it is an announcement?

No. The title and the cover are about gratitude only. There is no baby, no bump and no baby clothes on it, and none in the early pages either.

Who is the main character?

Your parents. The book is addressed to them and is about what they did; you are the one telling it.

Can I write the last line myself?

Yes, and you should. You give us that line when you fill in the form, and after the free preview you can still change it before you order.

Does this work if they are already grandparents?

Yes. Then it announces another grandchild, and the pages before it work exactly the same.
